About me
Dr. Michael Ciliberto is a leading pediatric epileptologist and Clinical Professor at the University of Iowa, where he spearheads clinical research into novel medical and device treatments for epilepsy. He is an active member of the Pediatric Epilepsy Research Consortium (PERC) and has served as a principal investigator on numerous multi-center, placebo-controlled trials for rare conditions, including Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. His research portfolio includes the investigation of MRI biomarkers, genomic testing interpretation, and the STOKE and soticlestat trials. He also has been involved in clinical research regarding epilepsy surgery in general with a special interest in epilepsy surgeries that do no lead to seizure freedom. Dr. Ciliberto is dedicated to improving diagnostic accuracy and long-term outcomes for pediatric patients through the integration of precision medicine and natural history data.
